After a recent visit to my dermatologist, I decided to give CeraVe’s PM Facial Moisturizing Cream a try.  It has one of my favorite ingredients, hyaluronic acid, and my dermatologist had recommended it to me since it also contains ceramides. Ceramides are lipid molecules that are integral in protecting the skin barrier. They help by creating a barrier to prevent permeability which helps the skin lock moisture to give a youthful look.

This product also contains niacinamide(vitamin B3), which can help reduce inflammation. This product can be especially helpful for those who suffer from chronic inflammatory chronic skin conditions, such as eczema and acne. I decided to go with the PM Moisturizing cream first, since the AM products contain sunscreen and I prefer to use other products for my sunscreen needs.

I think the texture of the product was very smooth though it didn’t “feel” as hydrating as my neutrogena hyaluronic acid water gel does.  I did appreciate the fact it is non-comedogenic so it didn’t further clog my pores. Since I recently started using this for a few weeks, I think it’s too early to tell if it made much of a difference in my usual skincare routine.  I do think it is worth giving a try, especially for those of you with acne-prone skin looking for a protective moisturizer. As a moisturizer, I think it stands well on its own going for an average retail price of $15.
