Hi everyone, it’s Ashley!
As summer wraps up, I am trying to soak in the last days. Some of the things I love about summer are the seasonal scents. I love the “beach-themed” ingredients like sea salt that you often find in these seasonal products.
This past summer, I bought a body lotion from Pink (a line by Victoria’s Secret)
What attracted me the most was the refreshing light blue look and the fact that the ingredients mention Hyaluronic Acid (and you all know how much I love hyaluronic acid from my past posts)
I think the fragrance is nice though it may not be suited for everyone. Some might find the scent too overpowering. The lotion is lightweight and hydrating though I find that it doesn’t last as long as I would like (especially around those ashy elbows of mine).
Part of this may have to do with the inherent formula of how lotions work. Creams tend to last longer than creams since they have higher oil concentrations. The name of the lotion is almost a bit redundant since lotion is typically a mix of water and a few drops of oil. Overall, my skin does feel hydrated after a few drops.
It appears that this product is a modification of the previous Ocean extracts line. I actually haven’t tried the Ocean extracts products so I don’t have much to compare to though based on some of the reviews I saw, some consumers were upset by the changes in this new product.
I find it nice & refreshing to apply after a nice bath though it’s not something I would say is part of my “must-have” skincare routine.
For those of you who have sensitive skin or are sensitive to strong scents, this body lotion might not be for you. The fragrance ingredients (e.g Benzyl salicylate) may cause some redness/itchiness, especially if you have any known allergies to it. I am including the ingredients list below:
Ingredients:
Water (Agua, Eau), Cyclopentasiloxane, Glycerin, Dipropylene, Sodium Chloride, Pentylene Glycol, Fragrance(parfum), Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Chlorphenisin, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sea Salt (Maris Sal, Sel marin),Sepiolite Extract, Benzyl Salicylate, Linalool, Hydroxycitroneilal, Limonene
