Our Story

From Left to Right: Ashley Abid (Co-Founder) and Thandiwe-Kesi Robins (Co-Founder)

Ashley Abid and Thandiwe-Kesi Robins met in graduate school in 2017 at the City College of New York.

Their friendship organically grew from the projects they worked on as well as the classes and Hack-A-Thons they’ve attended together. As two women of color, Skinterest is their joint effort to pay it forward and help people manage their condition with great aplomb. They recognize that the burden of managing a condition can marginalize different ethnic populations and chose to create a digital health platform that would factor in the physical, social, mental and financial problems that could arise in their care.

Currently, Skinterest is a small team of talented professionals with a wide range of skills and experience. Their motto is “We love what we do, and we do it with passion!”
